Adventures in Dining

So I believe I have all my dining reservations laid out for our trip. Here is the list of our reservations.  We are about 90 days out from our arrival date. All of my reservations are within 30 minutes of my preferred time, some within 5 minutes.  This just goes to show you can still get good reservations if you choose to go off-peak like we do. If you have eaten at any of these places, let me know in the comments what your favorite menu items are. A few of them, like Teppan Edo and Kouzzina are a real stretch for me and my husband. We are not typically adventurous eaters but we are both eager to make this a very memorable trip. I will try to remember to take pictures of our meals at each restaurant so that I can give you a very detailed trip report once we get back.

Getting in the Mood

This is and probably always be one of my favorite videos on YouTube.  It is beautifully done and really gets me in the mood for Disney.

General Itinerary – Final Draft

I have examined the park hours, the parades, shows and fireworks schedules and the days each of the parks is historically the busiest. I have come up with a plan that I believe will give us the most bang for our buck. Without killing us! Here is the link to our general itinerary.  We have 8 day Park Hopper tickets. That means we can visit multiple parks in the same day. I have allowed one day outside of the parks just to piddle (as we call it). That means just do whatever we want to that day. There are several resorts that I have not seen and of course, we have to visit Downtown Disney for a little shopping!

Let me know what you think and if you have any further suggestions.

We’re Booked!

We finally officially booked our 10th Anniversary Walt Disney World vacation!! This morning, August 14 at 5:33am (yes, I really do get up that early!) I printed the confirmation for our vacation.

Follow along with me as I plan our vacation. You are either going to think I am the most organized person you have ever seen or that I am a complete OCD freak. Either way, I promise to try to entertain and educate.

Let me tell you a little about us: My husband and I are in our early 50s but you would never know it by looking at me. (He’s a different story!) We met when we were both 38 and married 4 years later. I have been to Disney World twice and he has never been. I am a proud member of DisneyAnonymouse. I have been addicted to Disney since my first visit in 1994. Over the years, I have bought countless books on Disney, including vacation planners, biographies, histories, and business development.

Here are the first two planning spreadsheets: Disney Cost and Park Hours. I created both of these in Google Docs. I found the Park Hours originally at The Dis. I found the best times to go information at Intercot.  These are just 2 of the many websites I use when planning a Walt Disney World vacation.

On the Park Hours spreadsheet that I created, I combined alot of the information from the 2 sites. I will laminate that sheet to take along with us. There are many other tools that I use. I will take you through each one as we go.

Come along with us on our first Disney World adventure together!
